November 2nd, 2006
Story by: Jim Morrow, Victoria Standard
(Local Newspaper)
Wagmatcook has its own Television Station. WCCTV (Wagmatcook Community
Cable Television) hit the cablewaves at approximately 11:30am on
November 2nd, 2006.
The Chief of the community, Lester Peck did the
official "Plug In" of the channel while the rest of Council
looked on. Eric Christmas, Wagmatcook's Director of Public
Affairs, welcomed the advent of the new communications system, which connected the channel to 1000+
homes in the community and surrounding areas.
CBC was on site and did a news story on the launch. The Victoria
Standard also did a story in it's own local paper detailing the events
of the launch.

Chief of Wagmatcook, Lester Peck sees himself on TV
seconds after the official "Plug In" as the rest of the Wagmatcook
Council looks on - on TV.
The four main objectives for the station are as follows:
1. Marketing & Information Services to the Community
2. A new medium for Youth and potential video projects
3. A digital library (audio/video) recording elder stories &
community history

Mr. Christmas noted that "we are now sharing with our new audience and
happy to have them witness what will be an amazing time for us".
